MODULE 1 – LEARNING STYLE INVENTORY
Making the moves from
being in school is not an easy task . Student need to meet new friends at the
new place . Student also need to stay in college for semester 1 and learn to be
independant . There are also many new things that student need to know and

It’s important to us to always set in our mind to the our best and work hard to something that we want to archive .
It’s important to us to always set in our mind to the our best and work hard to something that we want to archive .
CHARACTERISTICS OF AUDITORY, VISUAL & KINESTHETIC MODES
AUDITORY LEARNERS
after you read a page in your textbook, summarise the information out loud in your own words.
tape your instructor’s lecture, and if you are a commuter, listen to the tape on the way home, either in your car, or on the bus or subway.
discuss the material that you have been learning with a friend or study group.
VISUAL STYLE
create mind maps, flow charts and diagrams using bright colours. Put them where you can view them frequently.
practice building your visual memory.
rewrite your notes using different colours.
KINESTHETIC LEARNER
use your hand. Cut up charts and diagrams. Create flash cards and move them around with large, sweeping movements.
walk and talk the information. Recite as you move.
type on a computer keyboard. You are using your muscle memory.
MODULE 2 - GOAL SETTING
1. Goals should be self choosen
Goals that set by our parents, teachers or friends may not be always work for us .
We need to decide what we want to accomplish . If we set our own goals , we will be more motivated to achieve them .
2. Goals should be realistic
Think about wether your goals are attainable or not . For example, It would be unrealistic to get A+ in Calculus if our math background is very weak and high school grades in Math were never higher than a B .
To set realistic goals , we must carefully evaluate our chances of achieving each goals .
3. Goals should be specific
The more specific our goals are , the more motivated we'll be to achieve them .
4. Goals should be positive
Negative goals statements tend to make us fell that we can't really be succesful , they are not motivating.
We'll always do better if we are working toward something good .
LONG & SHORT-TERMS GOALS
Long-term goals are the objectives that you set for yourself for the end of the year , for four or five years from now , or even for a lifetime .
Short-term goals can be set for an hour from now , for the end of the day , week , month or term ( or semester ) .
Think of yor short-term goals as steps toward achieving the long-term goals you've set in yourself .
ACADEMIC & PERSONAL GOALS
Academic goals relate to your course work . They include things like going to class , completing assignments & preparing for exam .
Personal goals is about something like making new friends , joining sport , participating in clubs or any events or even doing your learning .
5 STEPS APPROACH TO SETTING GOALS

Example : I want atleast A in Biology
STEP 2 : LIST OF OBSTACLES
Example : I have trouble following the lecturer and taking the notes .
STEP 3 : LIST OF RESOURCES
Example : I'll read the chapter before the lecturer and I'll rewrite my notes afterward .
STEP 4 : REVISED GOAL STATEMENT
Example : I'll try to earn A in Biology .
STEP 5 : POLISHED GOAL STATEMENT
Example : i'll achieve A in Biology this semester .
MODULE 3 - TIME MANAGEMENT

MODULE 4 - MEMORY LEARNING & IMPROVING CONCENTRATION
MEMORY VS BRAIN
Memory is the ability of individual to save , keep and remember any informations or experience ( computer software ) .
Brain is an organ ( computer hardware ) . This two are working together and cannot been separated because it will effect each other .
3 TYPES OF MEMORY
Sensory memory - numerous incoming information form 5 sense will be stored in sensory memory for an instant . Remember something by using sense .
Short-term memory - our short-term memory have only limited storage . The information must be repeated in order to get information to long-term memory . Remember something for just 30 seconds to 24 hours .
Long-term memory - our long-term memory is unlimited and have large storage . If the information is not being used for long-term time , the information will be lost . Remember something for long time .
WAYS TO IMPROVE MEMORY STRATEGY
Manage your time wisely
Repeat the information many time
Elaboration strategies
Organize the materials
Comprehension monitoring strategies
MODULE 5 - TAKING LECTURER NOTES
WHAT IS TAKING NOTES?
MODULE 5 - TAKING LECTURER NOTES
WHAT IS TAKING NOTES?
In my opinion , taking notes is writing down any ideas with our own way and only we can understand it . It is easier to remember by reading our notes than read the whole textbook because we just write important information in our notes .
WHY WE TAKE NOTES?
Help us to pay attention in class
Help us study for quiz , test or final exam
Help is to improve our memory
Help us to engage our sense
Help us to organize and process our data and information
NOTE TAKING EXERCISE USING THE CORNELL METHOD

MODULE 6 - ACADEMIC INTEGRITY & PERFORMANCE
WHAT IS GPA,CGPA & iCGPA?
Grade Point Average(GPA) is the grade that a student earns each semester.
Cumulative Grade Point Average(CGPA) is the overall grades a student earns after divided by number of semesters .
Integrated Cumulative Grade point Average(iCGPA) is an integrated mechanism of assessment , performance reporting and student development that takes into account the increase in manners , knowledge and their capabilities .
